Electro Osmosis

This system can be installed in any property whereas other systems have their limitations. In addition the Electro osmosis system is the only system that will eliminate damp in a party wall.

The Electro Osmosis System process involves the insertion of electrical anodes and cathodes to reverse the capilarity of the masonry. Any thickness or type of structure can be treated. It can be installed with less disturbance to the internal plasterwork than any other damp proofing system.

Indeed, if there is no evidence of hygroscopic salts, there may be no need to remove any internal plaster. Internally, it can be inserted behind skirting boards, so that the plaster remains undisturbed. If there is access below a suspended floor, it can be even less intrusive. Electro-osmosis is effective for at least 19 inches below the level of installation, so that it can be used above floor level but still protect joist-ends below the floor.

This is the best system for use with cavity walls and indeed is the only system that will eliminate damp in cavity constructions.

External walls are treated, usually, in the mortar beds, if they are accessible. They can be then repointed in sand/cement mortar on completion. When access is via an internal wall it can be installed behind the tops of the skirting boards and the amount of disruption we create would be made good using polyfilla
